Perspective

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to thecountry with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would beconsidered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the fatherasked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said theson.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a poolthat reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has noend. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars atnight. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the wholehorizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fieldsthat go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serveothers. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around ourproperty to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, forshowing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen ifwe all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about whatwe don't have. Appreciate every single thing you have, especially yourfriends!

Make a difference

A man was walking down the beach at sunset. As, he walked along, he saw another man in the distance. He noticed this man kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water, again and again. As, he approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. He was throwing them back into the water, one by one.
Puzzled, he approached the man and said, "Good Evening. I was wondering what you are doing."
"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If, I don't throw them back into the ocean, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."
"But, there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possible get to all of them. And, don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"
The man bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. With a smile he replied, "Made a difference to that one !!!"

Just remember, no matter how small the deed it really does makes a difference.
Make a difference today.
Do something nice for someone else, even if it's just sending this card to a friend and letting them know somebody cares about them.
